CEPTA opens it’s doors * updated
When we (in CEPTA) heard the rumor mill start up about what would be required with Dominion we were not sure what to believe. I am still on the fence about it somewhat (losing level 5 military, by having no one run something for 1 day seems retarded in my view) however, we must adapt to changes. We must grow and encourgae people to come and hang out in 0.0 with us.
In response to this, we are doing our best to have a ‘normal’ corp, rather than a specialized PvP corp. Miners, Industry guys people who want to learn a bit about 0.0, are all welcome. Read below for more info.
Our doors are temporarily open for those looking for a home in deep 0.0 … (Esoteria) specifically. I do mean home. I do not mean a single jump clone and 1 ship. embrace the 0.0 , it might embrace you back. She is a cold dark mistress, part lover, part mean as hell evil bitch, but she is constant in her desire.
Some of what we found out since Dominion, and further back:
- Providing ships for people to fly in is an excellent way to have good participation, if people only have 1 ship , they do not want to lose it.
- Miners are needed, and wanted now in 0.0
- With the influx of materials, we must build items with it..(Ammo, Ships, ETC)
- We DO enjoy Anomalies, it is a good way to make money.
- We like a good fight
- Even ‘miners’ must be able to tackle someone & fight when needed
- Have ships in the hanger ready to deploy ( minutemen style)

What Cepta offers to its pilots:
PvP in Esoteria, Stain, and roams.
Mining, with all the high-end minerals.Excellent relationship with our alliance, its leaders, and other alliance corps.
Ventrilo server.
Corp and Alliance kill-boards.
Ships programs, free ammo, free T1/named mods, and access to all our BPO’s for building.
Excellent market opportunities (6 stations at present).
Jump freighter and carrier service to and from Empire.
Laid back environment, good laughs and good times.Understanding that real life comes before any game.
What we expect from our pilots:
First and foremost, good times and good laughs.
Willingness to help the corp and alliance.
All pilots are required to PvP when called upon.
Everyone must have Ventrilo running & working, have a mic, and get on Ventrilo when online.
Be self sufficient.
No drama, no emo’s.
Minimum of 5 million skill points on main.We are very laid back, friendly, and relaxed bunch of guys. Our average age is about 33, and we consist of approximately 70% US TZ and 30% EU TZ. When you join Cepta, you are entering into a friendship with all corp members, in and out of game. We ask that you are not overly sensitive, for we joke and kid around quite a bit and almost nothing is out of bounds in our conversations, so Thick Skin Compensation should be at level V.
We are seeking capital, BS, HAC, recon, tackling, EMT (repping), and mining/industry pilots. Your API might be requested at any time if security concerns become an issue. We require your loyalty to corp, and request that you have no other characters in another player owned 0.0 corp/alliance.
That about covers it, if you think you might be interested in CEPTA, please join “Cepta Pub” channel (without the quotes) before applying. All pilots will be interviewed before acceptance. We will answer any questions you have for us, so don’t be shy. Thanks again and fly safe!
Tenets of CEPTA
- Pick 1 race, fly that race VERY well, THEN move to the next race of ship.
- People are important, characters (avatar’s) much less so, if we don’t trust you, pack it up, time to go.
- Have a good time, winning is important but enjoying the time is more important.
- Real life is the highest priority…just tell us so we know
The process can take some time, or can be very quick, depends on many factors…just ask if you want to know where you stand..
Steps to joining Ceptacemia [CEPTA]
- Join our Public Channel (Cepta Pub)
- Chat with us and find out if you would like to join us
- We will invite you to a Ventrillo server & channel
- Director/CEO will interview you
- Be prepared to give your LIMITED API key over
- Know what ships you can fly
- Have some sort of goal in mind
The 5 Million Skill points is Mandatory Requirement
We require pilots to be able to survive, seeing as how pilots of less than 30 days can have 1.5M SP the 5M mark can be accomplished with a couple of months time in.
IF you have ever belonged to someone that we are currently fighting give it up…you will not get in, we LOATHE spies.
If your account is less than 30 days old, or even relatively close, don’t bother…come see us when you have 5 M SP
Good hunting , safe jumping.
“what’s a good ship?”
CEPTA has been gaining some new members and a question came up last night that I thought it worth talking about.
New guy a has just joined CEPTA, and he asks two of us directors, what’s the best ship?
Good question the issue is there is no real answer. To boil it down for him I thought I would let folks know what I have learned and see if that helps him or anyone else out:
#1 rule with ship types, your race doesn’t matter, the ship your currently ‘in’ doesn’t matter, what matters is what goal you have, and what ships will help you meet that goal. Many people do not have a goal so the general direction we start them on in Frigates and Cruisers ( both in the T1 variant) If you are starting out or unsure of what to do check the list maybe it will give you a short term goal.
I will examine the races and then the classes within each race first UP
NON -PVP
Race/Type Ratting Mining Sniper EWAR Exploration
Caldari Raven Bantam
Osprey
RokhRokh Blackbird
Kitsune
Falcon
Rook
ScorpionGriffen
Buzzard
Gallente Dominix Navitas Megathron Imicus
Helios
Minmatar Burst
SyctheMaelstrom Probe
Cheetah
Amarr Apocalypse Tormentor
Arbitrator
ApocalypseApocalypse Magnate
Anathema
In all you will not be disappointed with these ships in the purposes listed
The standouts among the 5 types
Ratting ~ The raven jumps to the head of the pack here
Mining ~ The Osprey in the Cruiser class is just great at this mining job.
EWAR ~ Any of the Caldari class excel…the other races EWAR is more of a specialized usage Sensor Dampening can be used to great effectiveness in the Gallente line but work well in most ships, so there are no standouts aside from the Caldari ships
Exploration ~ all the races have good exploration ships the first ships are T1 the second are T2′s.
Race Ships
Amarr Coercer
Punisher
Omen (300 DPS capable)
Harbinger
Caldari Merlin
Moa
*Caracal
Drake
Gallente Incursus
*Tristan
Thorax
Vexor
Brutix
Minmatar Thrasher
Rifter
Rupture
Stabber
Hurricane
The T1 Sub battleship class has a few standouts:
Destroyer class : *Coercer and the Thrasher ( the Thrasher with the latest changes to projectile Ammo load-out may be clearly the winner here but I have yet to actually test it)
Frigate : Best in class ~ The Rifter
Cruiser : Best in class ~ The Thorax (I love the Minmatar but damn the Thorax is mean as shit up close )
Battlecruiser : Sustainability ~ The Drake
Battlecruiser : Firepower ~ The Harbinger across varied range but The Brutix up close
This will get us started I think. Just because your ship doesn’t sit somewhere in the list means nothing to be honest. Some ships not mentioned would probably be better given a different situation so what I ahve tried to do is give a list of ships within each race that can be used fairly effectively in PvP. Have I seen all PvP fights…hell no. I have seen a fair few though and these are the ships that come to mind
Some general views:
Ships in the Caldari line are good in groups and good at specialization ( Ewar for example) doesn’t mean a blaster Moa should be underestimted…
Ships in the Gallenete Line can lay down withering firepower but they need to be up close, as a result they can tank well and use drones especially well…
Ships in the Amarr line will just hit you as hard as possible from varying ranges, also employing drones, rarely missiles…
Ships in the Minmatar line will either hit you from a longer range than expected and will be quicker than any other class, or will close for the kill very rapidly…
I hope this helps some new players out there and I beg the indulgance of the many veterans reading this.
Theft, Corp Theft that is
Yes I know this is a downer but what can I say I guess some will get coal or coal dust or just a sack of crap set on fire. It seems whilst I was away, and enojying things there was a theft by a certain ASSHAT from our corporation. The last time this happened all kinds of crap ( whaa whaa jabber jabber jabber) commenced.
Corp directors/CEO check your courier contracts system, it is screwed up.
That was the highlight of my ever so short stay yesterday when I had a spare 5 minutes. From shoveling snow till my back hurt, to running around trying to finish Christmas shopping for Mrs. Mule, this peice of news was the ‘highlight’. Deep sigh…yes, yes , yes…EvE is a cutthroat game, do not bother to explain that to me a vet of 6 years ( well not a whole 6 years but enough of it) It is just that these gentlemen that make up CEPTA have tried REALLY hard to be a good bunch, and when people steal it just pisses me off.
Word to the wise, mechanacitions are already in motion and vengence ( as opposed to revenge) will be served. I know your name you baseless traitor and I will hunt you down ( in game of course) it is just fake stuff , but dangitt it is our Corps fake stuff and well, you’ll reap what you sow.
Enough about Venegence and what not we will let tham have their Christmas/ New years and next year we can smack em around.
See I feel better already
Lets turn this frown, back right side up.
I’m looking forward to being able to do more than jst log in and send an e-mail. Mrs. Mule has a Wonderful present or two. Brother mule and sister in law mule also are set, Mother Mule and Step-Father Mule are all good to go. All is well in the Mule house. Oh even the Cats have a present or two.
I hope that all ( or almost all, except maybe the said Corp thief) have a great day , whether it be blowing ships up, being around family and whatnot or just hanging out with friends, I hope you enjoy some time to appreciate those that you ahve around you.
To all the mule readers out there take care, safe jumping, and good hunting.
